Who are you?
I'm an African-American lesbian who's in the porn industry!
No, seriously.
Ok, ok. Primarily, I'm a writer (I write lesbian erotica featuring women of color). I'm also an adult webmaster.
I've had other jobs in the past: I was a tax-preparer in college, I've been a restaurateur and I've worked on political campaigns. I've even been to law school and was a corporate lawyer for a time.
But nothing compares to the job I have now! I look at porn all day! How cool is that??
Why adult content? Why adult erotica?
I've been fascinated with sex for a looooong time!
As a kid, I loved reading my dad's adult mags that he had hidden in his workroom. As I got older, I discovered Anais Nin and D.H. Lawrence. Then came storytellers such as Jackie Collins.
When I was a senior in high school, my life changed when I discovered Dr. Ruth Westheimer. I used to sneak and listen to her Sunday night radio talk show. She was amazing! I loved how she helped people explore their sexuality. She did it with such class, dignity and integrity that I was immediately hooked.
Later in life, I discovered an adult novelty store in the Midwest called Priscilla's. It's a great store that features everything from lingerie to adult toys to adult magazines, books and DVDs. I wanted to own a store so bad! But I was too scared to get into the adult industry at that time.
Finally, just in the past year, I decided to bite the bullet and pursue a writing career. I run a daily pop culture blog on MySpace. I've also been writing lesbian erotica featuring women of color, and having a great time with it. I loved it so much that I decided to explore other businesses in the adult industry. That led me to where I am right now.
Why LGBT?
First and foremost, I'm a lesbian, so I love lesbian erotica. However, when I looked for lesbian content on the web, a lot of it just wasn't my cup of tea.
So, rather than sit back and complain, I decided to try and create my own.
Why *ethnic* LGBT?
Two words: Noah's Arc!
This groundbreaking TV show on LOGO really gave me the push to pursue erotica for people of color.
Noah's Arc is the only show on television that features gay people of color. Here, you get to see four gay men of color living and loving life in L.A. Once I saw the show, I was immediately hooked!
I was so pleased that Hollywood was finally recognizing that there's a strong market for ethnic LGBT content.
Also, I was so impressed by the talented writer and director Patrik-Ian Polk and the group of fantastic, handsome and amazingly-talented actors and actresses on the show that I decided to bring more ethnic LGBT content to the forefront myself.
Definitely catch Seasons 1 and 2 of Noah's Arc on DVD. Also, look for the feature-length movie in the fall of 2008.
I've also been influenced by the website, Kuma2.net. It's a website dedicated to lesbian erotica that features women of color. Check it out!
I think that all people are beautiful, wonderful, sexy and fantastic! I just think that people of color tend to be underrepresented in erotica. And if we are represented, it's often not in the most flattering way. I hope that this site will help change all that.
Will you ever promote "straight" adult content?
Actually, I do. Under the Black Boobs category, you'll find both straight and lesbian content.
I'm also toying around with a Black Cheerleader series that could go either lesbian or straight (depending upon the interest). If there's enough interest, I'll feature much more. Just let me know!

Aren't you embarrassed to be involved in the adult industry? How do you tell people what you do for a living?
I have two basic approaches:
If I'm with a person who I think is pretty cool, I'll just come right out and say that I'm in the porn industry! It's a great icebreaker! Once I let them know that I'm an erotica writer and an adult webmaster, most people are intrigued. Then I give them one of my business cards. Then it's on!
If I'm with a person who I'm not too sure about, I'll just tell them I'm a writer. If I get a good response, then I'll mention that I write romantic short stories. If they seem game, then I let them know that I write erotica. Usually, the conversation takes off from there. However, if at any point I sense some resistance, I'll just cut it short and change the subject.
Why isn't there more ethnic LGBT erotic content on TV, on DVD and in the theatres?
Great question. I've wondered the same thing myself!
However, if I have my way, the lack of ethnic LGBT erotic content will change. I'm working on several projects as we speak that will soon bring the hottest LGBT erotic content to a TV or movie theatre near you!
Now for a more serious question: How can a person balance sexual pleasure with sexual health and safety?
This is one of the main reasons why I'm even in this industry.
I see and hear about so many people that are sexually unfulfilled (and I think it's a shame). Insecurities, hang-ups and general lack of knowledge about sexual excitement and sexual response are the main contributors, I think. So by having this site, I hope to provide a place where people can explore their deepest fantasies without fear, thereby learning more about themselves and each other. I want everyone to be comfortable being exactly who they are.
However, sexual well-being is not just about sexual pleasure. It's also about having safe, healthy and responsible sexual relations.
Unfortunately, the safe-sex message is sorely lacking in this country. If it were up to me, I'd want people to learn two things:
First, if you don't have a sexually transmitted disease, try not to contract one.
Second, if you DO have a sexually transmitted disease, it's not the end of the world. You CAN learn how to satisfy yourself (and have an amazing time doing it). You can also learn how to have wonderful, glorious and safe sex with a partner (or partners).
I truly believe that EVERYONE, no matter what, has the right to enjoy sexual relations. I hope this site can help make that happen.
How can I improve my own sexual pleasure?
Exploring this site, for one. See, I believe that people should be able to explore ALL of their fantasies, no matter what anyone else thinks. Because so many people are LGBT-averse and just straight homophobic, I created this site to be a haven, of sorts. Here, you can enjoy ALL of your fantasies without judgment and without fear.
Why should it matter?
IMO, we live in a very stressful society (at times). What better way to relax and ease stress than through sexual pleasure and release?
What if I can't get past my hang-ups? What if I think I need one-on-one sexual therapy?
By all means, seek professional counseling. Nowadays, the Internet is a fantastic resource for just about any problem that a person might have. In just a few clicks, you can be directed to either an online counseling group, or local one-on-one counseling that can help you identify why you feel the way you do and how you can get better.
